Play time at Nonkosi creche

In the Spirit of Mandela day, Sunshine Bakery, a local manufacturer, donated a jungle gym to Nonkosi creche located at Grange. The creche is for children, between the ages of two and six years old. The creche has limited resources, therefore, the addition of the jungle gym was much appreciated by the staff and the little ones, who were swinging, climbing and using the slide for the whole duration of Sunshine’s visit. The creche also use recycled Sunshine bread bags to make skiping ropes for the children.

Sunshine Bakery aims to empower the youth and the best way to learn is through playing, because as children play they learn to solve problems, get along with others and also reap the health benefits of playing in the sun. Sunshine Bakery also aims to uplift the local community through various initiatives such as the Sunshine Bakery Schools’ competition, which benefits a number of schools as well as contributes to various charities.
